Cornwall Fort

Former French fortification blocking the crossing of the Brest Narrows. This vast complex includes the old fort at water level, armed mainly with a battery of 2 320 mm guns known as the "batterie de rupture", under rock, a command post at the top of the cliff for the torpedo lines in the Narrows, and an old fortification known as the "ouvrage Beaufort". Easy access and fine views over the Narrows. Well worth a visit
