The Crozon cemetery houses the graves of the crew members killed in action on August 14, 1944, of the Lancaster I PD222 of 44 Squandron, which had taken off from Dunholme Lodge on a mission to bomb the military port of Brest.
★Flight Sergeant John Malcolm McLEOD, Machine Gunner ,Royal Canadian Air Force, age 31.
★Flying Officer Hugh Gordon GILCHRIST, Pilot, Royal Canadian Air Force, age 20 .
★Flying Officer Richard Walter MERCER,Royal Australian Air Force, 23 years.
The Crozon cemetery also houses the graves of the aviators of the Bristol Blenheim IV N°L9318 which had taken off from the Roya Air Force airfield at Tangmere. The Germans were in Brest and in the confusion the French anti-aircraft defense (Keradiguen battery), thinking it was a German mine-wetter, fired and hit the Bristol which crashed on Goulien beach. As witnesses looked on, the plane burst into flames.
★ Sergeant Field Martin, pilot, Royal Air Force, 24 years old.
★ Sergeant Murrie David, radio and machine gunner, 19 years old.
★ Aircraft Man Pickford Edward, machine gunner, RAF volunteer.
It also houses the graves of the crew of the bomber Avro Lancaster L 7322 of 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force, which took off on January 9, 1942 from Bottesford airfield on a mission to bombthe port of Brest, it was shot down by the German FLAK.
★ Sergeant Goldie Peter Charles Herber, machine gunner, Royal Australian Air Force, age 19.
★ Sergeant Seymour William Rex, machine gunner, Royal Australian Air Force, age 23.
★ Captain Bayley George Reginald, pilot, Royal Air Force.
The bodies of the rest of the crew have not been recovered and lie at sea.
★ Griffiths Richard Vivian, gunner, Royal Air Force, 20 years old.
★ Toohill Noel Messines, 2nd pilot Royal Australian Air Force.
★ Harris Alexender Gordon, observer, Royal Air Force, 22 years old.
★ Jones John Elias , machine gunner,Royal Air Force, 21 years old.
Finally, the cemetery is home to the grave of Camille Coatalem, a political deportee who died at the Nazi concentration campof Bergen-Belsen on May 12, 1944, and an unknown aviator.
