Built between June 20 and 26, 1944 by the 826th Engineer Aviation Battalion, the runway was operational by June 26. In memory of all those who gave their lives for the realization of the A8 airfield. Operational on June 09, 1944, to accommodate the 405th attack group, the 264th, the 604th night group and the 505th R.A.F. until October 14, 1944 .
