The chapel on Île Callot in Carentec houses a plaque paying tribute to the canoe Saint-Yves and its occupants.

Text of the plaque:

This statue was donated to Notre-Dame de Callot in 1947, following a vow.

On the night of June 7, 1943, some twenty young men boarded the Saint Yves, a small 11m hourglass. They headed ashore to fight for the liberation of France.

Spotted by a German naval convoy, they vowed to donate a statue of Saint Yves to Notre Dame de Callot, in the event of a successful escape.

They arrived safely in Fowey the following day.
