RESEAU SHELBURN 1943 TRIBUTE TO PATRIOTS AND THEIR NEIGHBORS

In 1943, Paul François, CAMPINCHI was the designer and organizer of the réseau SHELBURN, in close collaboration with the MI9, he was the head for France of this escape network, whose hub was in Paris.
Plouha was the final stage of this fantastic human adventure:

The embarkation phase for England.
The aviators were transported from the capital by rail to Saint-Brieuc.
The last part of the journey was made either by the little train from Côtes du Nord or by the gas-powered van of François KERAMBRUN helped by his worker Jean TRIFOL from Guingamp.
This last journey before freedom, required all members of the network to take charge.

Lucien DUMAIS and Raymond LABROSSE two secret agents, were in charge in the field, of the conduct and success of the missions.
The Resistance fightersPlouhatins who convoyed, sheltered, supplied, achieved a real feat that the English secret service called the "SHELBURN Miracle"
All these men and women lived, day and night, under the threat of arrest, torture, the firing squad or deportation.

The women of Plouha played a key role in this organization.

Marie Thérèse Le Calvez, Léonie Le Calvez, Marie Gicquel, Guiguite Le Saux, Marie Tréhiou, Germaine Couffon, Françoise Monjaret, Marianne Monjaret, Constance Le Vey, Thérèse Monjaret, Marie-Anne Monjaret, Marie and Anne Ropers, Julie Lesné...

The men of Plouha

François Le Cornec, Job Mainguy, Pierre Huet, Francis Baudet, Jean Gicquel, Jean Tréhiou, François Le Cavorsin. Jean Auffret, Georges Ropers, Joseph Hamon, Augustin Lesné..

After War. Marie-Thérèse Le Calvez also wanted tribute to be paid to the wives of the SHELBURN Network Agents in Plouha.

She declared, "Have we thought enough of the wives who trembled with fear for entire nights, waiting for a husband or brother?", iI must therefore mention Marcelle Huet, Jeanne Mainguy, Juliette Le Cornec, Anna Baudet, Marie Le Saux, Jeannette Tréhiou, Julie Lesné, Yvonne Le Cavorsin, Guiguite Auffret, Marie Jan...

"All these people helped in the victory, may Brittanycontinue to be proud of it and may Francecontinue to remember it"
