This memorial is dedicated to the glory and memory of the 8th UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE on which depended the four B-17 FLYNG FORTRESS bombers that fell in the north of the Yonne during the 1939-1945 war, on their return from bombing missions over GERMANY.

- You never know from the 457th BG on September 10, 1944 at Champlay
- Ombree ago from the 100th on September 11, 1944 at Chamvres
- El Lobo II from the 457th BG on March 19, 1945 at Chigy
During the Second World War for the 8th Air Force alone, 44,000 young Americans gave their lives in defense of freedom and reconciliation between peoples.
May they never be forgotten.
