Sherman Firefly

Leopoldsburg was liberated on September 12, 1944 by thePiron Brigade . Three days later, on September 15, 1944, General Brian Horrocks gave orders for Operation Market Garden to the ground force commanders who had met here, opposite the station, in the Splendid Cinema.

This monument was dedicated here on October 5, 1984 in memory of the 1944 briefing.
