German Military Cemetery

The German military cemetery at Pornichet is the largest in Brittany, with 4944 German soldiers buried, notably during the heavy fighting that took place in the Saint-Nazaire pocket until 1945. Serving as a nunnery for the Wehrmacht during the occupation, it was officially designated a "German military cemetery" in 1955 following Franco-German agreements.
