Jean Montvallier-Boulogne plaque

In this place died on August 25, 1944 during the fighting with the occupying German for the liberation of Paris, Jean Montvallier-Boulogne at the age of 24.
On this August 25 the Germans then entrenched in the Ecole des Mines, did not intend to surrender and fired from the windows at the FFI and soldiers of the 2nd Armored Division.
Shielded behind a tank of the 2nd DB with his friend Claude Biais, Jean Montvallier-Boulogne armed with a few grenades runs across Boulevard Saint Michel. The walls of the Ecole des Mines still bear witness to the violence of the fighting.
