Stele Sergeant Walter Titcomb and Corporal Ernest Smith
On August 16, 1944, on a reconnaissance mission to Saint-Georges-des-Groseillers to bypass Aubusson. Sergeant Walter Titcomb and his driver Corporal Ernest Smith at the head of a convoy followed by two armored vehicles, fell into a German ambush killing both men. They lie today in the British cemetery at Tilly-sur-Seulles.
