Under the relentless fire of bombardments, Abbé LAUNAY, parish priest of Tournai sur dives, asked the Germans to surrender, an officer put him in a snowcat."You are going to take us to the allies and ask for peace"
This is how 800 German soldiers with weapons on the ground surrender to a Canadian soldier and the French abbé.
